People-focused and Near-term Public Transit Performance Analysis

چکیده
Public transit ridership forecasts have long played a role in understanding the potential success of policy or investment, but their limitations led researchers and practitioners to identify other performance analysis approaches. Accessibility, ease reaching opportunities, has become very popular widely used for this purpose. But commonly accessibility measures also embody weaknesses that are seldom acknowledged; these limit utility truly benefits investments. In paper, we pros cons competing approaches offer third strategy. Specifically, describe how revealed travel behavior data, potentially combined with near-term forecasts, can provide information about current public users will be affected by new project. While acknowledging approach, demonstrate misleading when applied without an patterns.

Diagnosis of near-fatal pulmonary embolus-in-transit with focused echocardiography.
BACKGROUND Among patients who die from pulmonary embolus (PE), approximately two-thirds succumb within an hour of presentation. Computed tomography can provide a definitive diagnosis but is associated with practical limitations. Echocardiography can increase diagnostic certainty of PE by visualizing signs of acute right ventricular (RV) strain. This case highlights a potentially lethal finding ...
متن کاملPublic Transit Labeling
We study the journey planning problem in public transit networks. Developing efficient preprocessing-based speedup techniques for this problem has been challenging: current approaches either require massive preprocessing effort or provide limited speedups. Leveraging recent advances in Hub Labeling, the fastest algorithm for road networks, we revisit the well-known time-expanded model for publi...

Passengers, transit managers, adjacent businesses and residents, and local governments all can have strong, and sometimes conflicting, ideas about what makes a good transit stop or station. This paper examines stops and stations from the transit agency’s perspective; transit managers must consider both the logistical and political factors inherent to transit operations as well as the perspectiv...
